Empire Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how DesiGame ("we", "us"), the developer of the mobile strategy game Empire (the "Game"), handles information when you use the Game. If you have questions or wish to exercise a privacy right, contact us at info@desigame.eu.
1. Information processed
You can play locally without creating an online Empire account. Local saved games, settings, language choices and music preferences are stored on your device and are not synchronized to our servers.
If you create or use an online account or participate in the World Challenge leaderboard, the following information may be processed:
- account and authentication information, such as your email address, Firebase user identifier and linked sign-in provider (email/password, Google or Apple);
- your chosen public nickname, language/locale and public player identifier;
- World Challenge data, including state name and crest, population category, score, rank, outcome, ruleset version and the gameplay decision log required to verify a competitive result;
- limited technical and security information generated by our service providers, such as timestamps, request metadata, IP address and anti-abuse rate-limit records.
Passwords and complete payment-card details are not available to DesiGame. Authentication credentials are handled by Firebase Authentication or the selected sign-in provider. Purchases are processed by Google Play or Apple.
2. How we use information
We process this information only to provide account sign-in and recovery, reserve unique nicknames, run and verify the World Challenge, display the public leaderboard, protect the Game and its leaderboard against abuse, provide support, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Public leaderboard
If you submit a World Challenge result, your nickname, state name and crest, population category, verified score, rank and game outcome may be visible to other players. Your email address and Firebase user identifier are not shown publicly.
4. Service providers and sharing
We do not sell personal information and do not use it for advertising. We use Google Firebase and Google Cloud (Authentication, Firestore and Cloud Functions) to operate online accounts and competitive services. Google Play processes Android purchases and distribution. Apple may process Apple sign-in and iOS purchases. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect users, our rights or the security of the Game.
5. Advertising, analytics and device permissions
Empire does not contain third-party advertising and does not integrate an analytics or advertising SDK. The Game does not request access to your precise location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
6. Retention and account deletion
Online account and private competitive data are retained while your account is active and as reasonably necessary for security, dispute resolution and legal compliance.
To permanently delete your Empire account and its associated private data:
- Open Empire and sign in to your online account.
- Open your player profile and select Delete account.
- Review the deletion notice and confirm. Email/password accounts must enter their current password.
You may also request deletion by emailing info@desigame.eu. We may need to verify that you own the account before processing an email request.
Account deletion removes the Firebase account, private profile, nickname reservation and private competitive records. Existing public leaderboard results are retained only in anonymized form under the label "Deleted player" so historical rankings remain consistent.
Deleting an online account does not delete local saved games stored on your device. You can remove those in the Game or by uninstalling the Game/clearing its local data.
7. Security and international processing
We use access controls, server-side validation and encrypted network connections designed to protect information. Online data may be processed in the European Union and in other locations where our service providers operate, subject to appropriate legal safeguards. No system can guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
Empire is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum digital-consent age applicable in their country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided information contrary to this policy, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
9. Your rights and individual data requests
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal information, and to receive a portable copy. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
You can request deletion of specific private account or World Challenge data without deleting your entire Empire account by emailing info@desigame.eu. Describe the data you want removed. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Verified public leaderboard results may instead be anonymized where retaining the result is necessary to preserve ranking integrity, and limited records may be retained where required for security, disputes or legal compliance.
10. Changes
We may update this policy when the Game or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy at this address and update the effective date.
